Oak Hill Montesorri
Oak Hill Montessori Nursery is a privately owned Nursery regulated by Ofsted. We have taken a fresh approach to Nursery Education by following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum using the Montessori Method of learning through play.
At Oak Hill Montessori Nursery we understand that your child’s Early Years are the period when they have the greatest capacity to learn and the greatest appetite for knowledge. This is the age at which the young child can absorb information and learn spontaneously with joy, making it a period of great importance in their education.
The Nursery has 3 individual rooms, Sapphire (3 months to 2 years), Ruby ( 2 years to 3 years) and Diamond (3years to 5 years). Each room has been carefully designed to ensure best possible layout to meet specific Early Learning Goals. The Nursery is fun, bright and attractive with areas for active play, eating, sleeping and quiet times. The children also have access to a safe and secure outdoor play area. The resources and facilities such as toilets are at children’ height, this is to encourage self confidence and independence
At Oak Hill Montessori Nursery we believe children learn best through play by choosing, trying and doing for themselves. By understanding how children learn and providing them with tools and opportunities tailored to the way they experience the world around them we can support their independence and problem solving skills. Our approach allows children to learn through understanding rather than being told. Though understanding comes confidence and a joy in learning.
Montessori education provides a wide range of experiences, which stimulate a child’s love of learning and discovery. The aim is not to cram the child with knowledge – or cause confusion by giving too much choice – but to build a firm foundation for future development by offering materials and resources which encourage exploration.
Throughout your child’s time at Oak Hill Montessori Nursery we will be working towards meeting the seven Early Learning Goals aligned with the Montessori Learning Programme. The following table serves as an explanation of how the Montessori learning programme meets the six areas of learning. To view the table click here…
